BURLINGTON, N.C. (WLOS) — The U.S. Marshal’s office arrested two people in connection with a human trafficking and prostitution investigation in North Carolina.
They were arrested at a motel in Burlington.
The investigation began when someone told authorities his granddaughter was involved in drugs and prostitution.
“And these girls, if they chose to not want to do this, wound up getting slammed up against the wall, threatened, et cetera. That’s whats happening here in Alamance County,” said Sheriff Terry Johnson.
“Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery,” said Pat Nadolski, Alamance County District Attorney. “Telling somebody, ‘I’m gonna put you out on the street if you don’t do this.'”
