Charlie Gard’s life support will not be turned off for now as his parents and the hospital that is refusing to allow him to be treated or transferred and back to court. The new court appearance appears to revolve around an experimental treatment that other hospitals say could potentially help Charlie.
Charlie is the British boy suffering from a rare disease who a UK hospital is denying treatment or transfer to another hospital.
Great Ormond Street Hospital says “claims of new evidence” in the treatment of Charlie Gard have prompted it to seek a new hearing at the High Court. In a statement, the hospital said: “We have just met with Charlie’s parents to inform them of this decision and will continue to keep them fully appraised of the situation.
