In case you’re wondering, any idiot can have a blog. Many idiots do.

There’s no competency exam which must be passed. No minimum spelling or grammar skills which must be demonstrated. As can be seen by current affairs in the United States, one need not have even the barest grasp of law, or religion, or physics (or any science, really); and no blog author is required to tell the truth.

Many a damned, self-deluded fool sits down to their keyboard to proclaim their expert status to their readers every single day. And, if they’re in the U.S., their right to express themselves is protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution. The Constitution, however, doesn’t absolve you of the responsibility to determine the truth of any statement for yourself.
