At the end of last week, I read an article in which former DHS employee Phillip Haney states that just before an all but successful terrorist attack on Christmas Day, 2009 , “I was ordered by my superiors at the Department of Homeland Security to delete or modify several hundred records of individuals tied to designated Islamist terror groups like Hamas from the important federal database, the Treasury Enforcement Communications System (TECS).”
According to Haney’s report, this was part of a systematic pattern in which “the Obama administration ordered removed from the travel and national security databases…the kind of information that, if properly assessed, could have prevented subsequent Islamist attacks…”
